Growing industrial hemp in Poland is legal, but it requires an entry in the register of industrial hemp producers kept by the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR).
Only certified varieties listed in the EU catalogue may be grown. The seed invoice must be issued to the applicant. Keep the original official labels from the seed bags – you will need them for KOWR and for ARiMR subsidies.
The application states the variety, purpose of cultivation, land parcel numbers and the cultivated area (to within 5%).
Submit the application to the director of the KOWR regional branch responsible for your place of residence or registered office – via ePUAP, e-rolnik.gov.pl, by post or in person.
KOWR has 14 days to process the application. The entry has no expiry date.
Report any change of variety, area or location to KOWR within 14 days. If you apply for subsidies, submit the original seed labels to ARiMR by the required deadline.
Regulations may change – check the current requirements with your KOWR branch before sowing.
