All industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) varieties we offer are certified and approved for cultivation in Poland and the EU. Before sowing in Poland, the crop must be registered with the National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR) in order to be legal!
Seed, straw or CBG-rich flowering tops? We explain how to match an industrial hemp variety to your growing goal.
Sowing hemp step by step: timing, seeding rate and field preparation
Site – hemp grows best on deep, permeable soils with a pH of 7.0–7.6 and no standing water.
Sowing date – after spring cereals, no later than the first half of May, once the soil has warmed up to 8–10°C.
Seeding rate – for seed 10–15 kg/ha (rows approx. 50 cm apart), for biomass 30–40 kg/ha, for fibre 60–70 kg/ha (rows 7.5–15 cm apart).
Sowing depth – 3–4 cm.
Formalities – before sowing, apply for entry in the KOWR register and keep the original labels from the seed bags – you will need them for ARiMR subsidies.
Harvest – usually in August and September; fibre crops are harvested earlier than seed crops.
Certified seed in packs from 100 g to 25 kg can be found in the category Seeds for sowing. You will find more answers in our FAQ.
